As we prepare to celebrate our 90th anniversary, I find myself reflecting on just how far Bradleys', Inc. has come from its beginning. During the Great Depression, my great, great uncle Dick Bradley decided to open a new small appliance repair business, which most people thought was insane. The family worked round the clock to build the business and eventually diversified into electric motor repair. As the fourth generation, I am proud to say that Bradleys is the largest electric motor repair facility in South Texas. It is the only one of our size and capability within the Gulf Coast Region and is still family owned and operated.
In today's world where businesses last 10 years and corporations 20 years, people often ask if there is a “Magic Formula" or “Secret to Long Term Success” that has sustained Bradleys over the past nine decades. We have been fortunate that within each generation there was one family member who had a passion for repairing electric motors. Without this passion, we would have struggled to grow the company to this size and capability. Then, there are the old- fashioned business principles taught to me by my father, Jim Williams, Sr., our 3rd Generation Bradleys' owner, continues to guide and motivate our company today: "Our word is our bond".
Simply put, we do right by our customers and will not compromise integrity to increase profit. Communication is the most difficult to maintain and most important to our customers when their equipment is down, so we trained project coordinators to oversee your job to keep you in the loop. You may also monitor your electric motor’s progress through the repair process in real time, using Bradleys’ Customer Portal, which also gives you the ability to print an invoice, purchase new motors, access Motor Repair Reports, Test Results and other valuable data 24/7, 365 days a year.
