16 X 21 X 14 Burn Out Oven Overview

Steelman heat-cleaning ovens are used from cleaning stators and windings to reclaiming coated parts to removing plastics from screws and even removing rubber safely. Common items removed are: varnish, epoxy, paint, grease, oil and rubber or other combustible materials from metals. This is the method of a heat-cleaning oven versus a bottom-fired oven. Burn out ovens are safe for the environment since it does not dispose of chemicals, and the high-fire the after burner takes care of any residues, fumes and smoke.

Burn Out Ovens are specially designed to prevent core damage due to overheating. When insulation in a stator core breaks down in the insulation this is called 'core loss.' This is generally caused due to an excessive temperature or mechanical break down. Bradleys' addresses this by utilizing the method of a heat-cleaning oven versus a bottom-fired oven.

Most competitors will use ovens that are designed like an incinerator that is bottom-fired. However, this design can cause damage due to the fast burns that can result. Flames can also reach up to 1,400 degrees farenheit that can cause damage to the core. To measure and maintain the heat of a bottom-fired oven, heat is "thrown" in under the cart that can damage parts.

To avoid the problems and risks of a bottom-fired oven, Bradleys' utilizes a burn out oven. This oven is a heat-cleaning design that is heated with low-oxygen/high-temperature burner gases. This process inhibits combustion on the parts.

Benefits

  • Increased Efficiency
  • Provides Temperature Distribution
  • Reduces Damage to Cart Wheels
  • Process is Easy to Control
  • Safe for the Environment
  • Prevent Core Damage due to Overheating

Process

Bradleys' burn out oven uses a magnetic part temperature probe and temperature controller. These regulate the core temperature and maintain it with in five degrees Fahrenheit of the set point. The part temperature controller to get accurate oven temperatures regulates the primary burner. This also regulates the cool water sprays in the event of core releasing heat or isotherms. Because of these measures the core will never exceed the desired temperature. This system is interfaced with a cycle timer circuit to ensure process completion before shutting off.

The combustible vapor in the burn out oven is measured and controlled. It is maintained at a safe level in order to prevent fires and meet EASA standards. This design does not require an operator and prevents any fires from starting rather than responding after it has already started.
